Job Description
The Project Engineer is responsible for designing and programming custom client applications based on pre-defined business requirements, specs and application templates. As well, he/she will also be responsible for documenting the application, completing the technical spec, and supplying the finished product on-time, on-budget. Finally, he/she will also need to be an expert in HTML and Internet technologies resource for e-Dialog’s Professional Services group, using e-Dialog technology to solve complex client problems, educating Account Teams on new developments in web applications, and facing clients as e-Dialog engineering representatives.
Job Responsibilities include:
- Design and implement many different types of web applications from enrollment forms to instant win contests.
- Deliver projects on-time, on-budget.
- Complete technical specs from client-supplied business requirements or Account Team/BSA functional specs.
- Document all projects, and routinely provide updates as to newer/better workarounds, programming options for our applications.
- Identifying and proposing the right methods/application solution to meet clients' business needs, and program objectives.
- Regularly educate e-Dialog account teams, through training sessions or cross-department presentations.
Job Requirements:
- BA/BS required.
- 3 years of application development experience using PHP, Perl or other web programming language.
- 1-3 years of ColdFusion programming experience
- 3 years Oracle (or equivalent) database & PL/SQL experience
- Java, PHP or Perl proficiencies a plus
- Expert in HTML/CSS, strong JavaScript/DHTML skills
- Cross-browser HTML compatibility knowledge/experience
- Application design / Workflow design experience
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop or Macromedia image design/editing products.
- A creative eye, and ability to visually enhance applications with a little design work.
- A precise attention to detail, including high personal quality expectations and results orientation
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation development and delivery
- Ability to manage complex projects, and to juggle several ongoing projects simultaneously, an experienced multi-tasker
- Good problem-solving and issue resolution skills
- Willingness to “roll up the sleeves” when necessary to help get the job done
- A positive, energetic attitude
